Rare Card Combination Wins Las Vegas Casino Visitor $423,000
On July 20th, an anonymous guest at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas managed to win $423,018. The prize was obtained thanks to a rare card combination in Fortune Pai Gow.
The lucky winner took home the jackpot by hitting a straight flush. This combination consists of cards of the same suit with consecutive values. Considering that Fortune Pai Gow combines features of the Chinese game Pai Gow and American poker, the visitor needed seven figures instead of five to win. The player got lucky: he collected 6, 7, 8, 9, jack, queen and joker — all hearts.
A straight flush is one of the rarest and most powerful hands a player can make in poker, and it earned the Palace Station guest $418,018. The lucky winner received an additional $5,000 thanks to the side Fortune Bonus bet of $5.
The Palace Station Hotel and Casino opened in 1976. This is the oldest gambling property in the portfolio of the operator Station Casinos. The venue offers guests 1,600 slot machines, 45 table games, and a bookmaker’s office. There are also 576 rooms available in the local hotel. Among other amenities, Palace Station includes bars, restaurants, a swimming pool, parking for cars and trucks, a gym, 20,000 square feet of conference space, billiards and more.
This month, visitors to Las Vegas casinos have repeatedly won big prizes. On July 16th, a Texas resident hit a jackpot of $122,720. He played Monte Carlo Spin and Win at the Treasure Island Casino, spending just $3. Two days earlier, an Encore guest placed a $60 bet on the Buffalo Power Pay slot machine. He ended up winning a $1,935,806 jackpot.
In other news, a California casino visitor won a jackpot of more than $1.5 million.
