Travel + Leisure Names Wynn and Encore Best Las Vegas Casinos
A group of experts from the Travel + Leisure media brand recognized Wynn and Encore owned by Wynn Resorts as the best casinos in Las Vegas. The first of the pair received this honor for the fourth year in a row.
Both resorts offer impressive casinos, with a combined area of approximately 180,000 square feet. In particular, Encore features 95 table games and 860 slot machines, as well as the Sky Casino zone for those who are ready to wager $300,000 or more. However, these properties topped the rankings in part due to their array of non-gaming amenities, including spas and luxury restaurants. There are also a total of over 4,700 hotel rooms available in the two buildings.
The city’s top 10 casinos also included Fontainebleau Las Vegas, the newest gambling property on the Strip, and Durango Casino & Resort in Southwest Las Vegas. Both venues started operating only a few months ago. Fontainebleau came in fifth place despite stiff competition from other properties on the city’s main gambling street. Durango, ranked eighth on the list, became one of two casinos outside the Las Vegas Strip included to the top, the second — Ellis Island — was given seventh place by experts.
The largest number of casinos in the ranking belong to the Strip’s largest operator, MGM Resorts International. Cosmopolitan came in third, Bellagio in fourth and Aria in ninth.
The sixth place on the list of the best was occupied by The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, which is managed by Apollo Global Management. Caesars Palace, owned by Caesars Entertainment, the second largest casino operator on the Las Vegas Strip, was ranked number 10.
