Play’n GO’s Sissel Weitzhandler Is Concerned by “Gamble for a Good Cause”
Sissel Weitzhandler, Play’n GO’s CRCO (Chief Risk and Compliance Officer), had an exclusive conversation with the Focus Gaming News portal. In it, she mentioned the donations in casinos.
While admitting that donations themselves are not bad, Weitzhandler mentioned that the gambling industry often used them for promotion and to improve a brand’s reputation. She expressed her concerns about recent occasions of companies promoting “gambling for a good cause.”
Weitzhadler said that the gambling industry was associated with too many risks and that it would not surprise her if the gambling regulators took measures soon. In her opinion, this wouldn’t help the whole industry.
Several other topics concerning the ESG (environment, social, and corporate governance) culture implemented by Play’n GO were discussed at the interview. For example, Sissel Weitzhandler announced the measures the company takes to make its work environment climate neutral by 2025. To do this, Play’n GO offsets the carbon of traveling staff members, offers their workers €2,000 to create home offices, etc.
In the end, Weitzhandler mentioned that Play’n GO had 3 women and 2 men in the management team and noted that diverse companies were the ones that had better results.
