New Tower To Be Constructed at M Resort in Henderson
The M Resort in Henderson is expected to be expanded as the plans to build a second tower at the venue have been unveiled. The expansion project cost is $206 million, and as Penn Entertainment announced, the new tower would increase the property’s capacity from 384 rooms to 775 or more than double its existing number of rooms and suites. The other parts of the expansion planned are updated amenities, bigger meeting space, and new local partnerships, which the gaming company says will be announced at a future date.
Hussain Mahrous, M Resort Henderson vice president and general manager, said that everything they had been doing over the past few years had been to grow and evolve the property and further enhance the customer experience.
Jay Snowden, Penn Entertainment CEO, noted that at the M Resort, the addition of a second tower would benefit from the strong demand in the Henderson locals market while providing additional capacity for the group business that was drawn to their market-leading resort and amenities, including their highly successful partnership with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The new tower, the construction of which is targeted for 2023, will be a part of Penn Entertainment’s bigger project costing $850 million.
It includes building another hotel tower at the Hollywood Columbus property, aiming to add 180 rooms plus new food and beverage options. If Columbus property expansion is approved, the construction will start late next year, and a hundred permanent jobs will be created as expected.
Penn Entertainment also considers moving its Hollywood Casinos in Joliet and Aurora to land. The Joliet casino will be a part of the Rock Run Crossings development project near the Interstate 55 and 80 interchange. The Aurora casino is proposed to be situated next to the Chicago Premium Outlets mall, near Exit 199 of Interstate 88 in Aurora.
