Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas to Give Away $1.6 Million
The iconic Las Vegas casino, The Mirage, will close on July 17 to make way for the development of a new Hard Rock property. But before that happens, the Mirage Progressive Finale Cash Giveaway will take place from July 9 to July 16, 2024, with $1.6 million up for grabs.
This amount consists of unclaimed progressive jackpots in slot machines and table games. Nevada law states that such prizes are considered an obligation to players, so any remaining funds must be given away before the casino closes.
In the slot category, the total prize pool is $1.2 million. From July 9 to 11, the casino will be giving away $200,000 daily to holders of Unity cards, Hard Rock’s global loyalty program. On July 12 and 13, the prize pool will increase to $250,000, and on July 16, the guaranteed reward will be $100,000.
Unity card holders will also be able to compete for rewards totaling $400,000 by playing table games on July 12 and 13. The promotion applies to hold’em, blackjack, baccarat, and a number of other games.
The Mirage hotel and casino opened in 1989, kicking off the boom of mega-resorts in Las Vegas that continues to this day. The new Hard Rock facility is expected to open on the site of the iconic property in 2027.
In 2022, the Mirage made history as the first casino in Las Vegas under the management of Native Americans. Hard Rock International, a company owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, acquired the property from MGM Resorts for about $1.1 billion. The Mirage retained its branding and continued operations while renovation plans were being developed.
