Non-profit Organizations Receive $2 Million from MGM Foundation
The MGM Resorts Foundation has awarded 82 grants worth almost $2 million to non-profit organizations in the regions where the company has properties. The list of states includes New York, Northeast Ohio, Mississippi, New Jersey, Southern Nevada, Michigan, the DC Metropolitan area, and Western Massachusetts.
The payments were made possible thanks to donations not only from MGM Resorts employees, but also from guests. Donations were directed to the needs of those organizations that provide basic services to residents of the respective communities.
Decisions about programs and organizations that would be funded are made by the company’s public grant councils and voluntary committees of employees representing their regions.
Maria Jose Gatti, Executive Director of Community Engagement for MGM Resorts International, thanked all staff and guests who made donations and stated that the foundation provides communities with vital assistance, including mental health, housing, nutrition counseling, and medical care.
MGM Resorts Foundation was founded in 2002 to provide opportunities for company employees to contribute to charitable causes. Over the course of the foundation’s existence, over 1,500 charities have received more than $100 million in total.
