AGA Partners with ECA and BGC to Tackle Global Gambling Issues
The American Gaming Association (AGA), the UK Betting & Gaming Council (BGC) and European Casino Association (ECA) have entered into a global partnership. The main goal is to solve the main problems the global gambling industry faces, including ways to combat the illegal market.
AGA, ECA and BGC have partnered under a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) to focus on industry priorities and values, such as innovation and security, responsible gaming and illegal gambling. The MoU will create a platform for joint research projects, so that representatives from each organization can collaborate by sharing their experience and expertise in the gambling field.
Illegal gambling was chosen as the first topic under the new memorandum of understanding. Three organizations will discuss ways to combat illegal gambling during a law enforcement roundtable. The event will take place in January next year and will bring together law enforcement officials, industry leaders and regulators. Main topics will include consumer safety and the impact of black gambling market on legal operators.
The partnership was announced during the AGA’s Global Gaming Expo this week. The American Gaming Association president and CEO Bill Miller said that by sharing their unique resources, they would expand their fight against illegal gambling to new fronts, work together to strengthen responsible gaming, and innovate around business best practices.
ECA chairman Erwin van Lambaart noted that joint efforts will help tackle key issues facing all gambling industry stakeholders. BGC CEO Grainne Hurst added that the partnership marks a “new chapter” in a shared vision to build a trusted and sustainable betting and gaming industry.
